On President Bashar al-Assad's concluded visits to Saudi Arabia, Jordan
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday concluded two visits to each of Saudi Arabia and Jordan during which he met in al-Riyadh with the US secretary of state Madeleine Albright who called on him to " contain Hizbullah provocative acts " against Israel. President al-Assad replied that the Hizbullah party is " a social force in itself."

A third Syrian plane to Baghdad

The Saudi daily al-Watan has described the visit made by President Bashar al-Assad to Saudi Arabia today as a crowning and continuity of the strategic relations between the two states in the framework of what is called the " three principles which form the element of inter- Arab balance since ten years during which there were no Arab summits and an urgent need has emerged to establish a balance that brings all the Arabs together."
