Chad effected by Darfur atrocities spill over
Deadly violence, maiming and burning of people alive is increasingly spilling over from strife-torn Darfur to neighbouring Chad and displacing thousands, United Nations agencies said yesterday, as the world body's human rights chief warned of a full-blown crisis and called on Chadian leaders to protect their civilians.

Sudan: Annan calls for high-level meeting on Darfur
The announcement came as the UN Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) reported nearly 40 civilian deaths in the last few days in attacks in Darfur by Arab militiamen – some of whom were backed by Sudanese military vehicles.
