Al-Anbaa: Sudan government and Umma separatists reach agreement
issued a joint statement on a national program that includes the foundation of a democratic state in which "citizenship to be the base for duties and rights." The program states of recognizing and honoring "of all religions and beliefs, tolerance, preventing of religious harassment and any act that provokes ethnic or religious difference."

The Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir has stressed the seriousness of the Sudanese national salvation front in the efforts to achieve peace in the country and its readiness to expand the base of the ruling system in case current negotiations in Nairobi will succeed between the government and the rebel movement under the auspices of IGAD states.

Ismael: Sudan's peace talks enter decisive phase
The Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael said that the current ongoing negotiations held in Kenya between the governments and the southern rebels will stop for two weeks as from July 20 in order to study and evaluate concluded results.

Al-Ayam: More relief operations for southern Sudan
The humanitarian aid commission in Sudan has announced that the air relief operations which start today will cover more 40 positions in the southern part of the country and this will be in implementation of an agreement between the government and the UN secretary general.
