An agreement between the Sudanese government and Ummah Party
Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael reached an agreement with the opposition Ummah Party, the largest opposition group, as he signed an agreement in Djibouti where leaders from eastern Africa are convening to discuss the continuing war in southern Sudan, in addition to discussing the conflict in Somalia.

Well-informed sources in Cairo said that Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir may visit Cairo next month. On Sunday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa said such a visit by the Sudanese president to Cairo "is to be held," but he avoided specifying a date for the visit.

Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir signed yesterday presidential decisions to give back properties confiscated from 13 opposition members, headed by Mohammed Osman El-Merghany, head of the Sudanese opposition alliance; Abd El-Rahman Saeed, whom was accused of exploding the petroleum pipes in North Atbara; and Mansour Khalid an advisor to John Garang, chief of the Sudan People's Liberation Army.
