Saudi journalist arrested for criticizing Saudi religious extremism
Reporters Without Borders said of the detention of Rabah Al-Quwai, who writes for the Saudi daily newspapers Okaz and Chams and the Arabic-language websites Dar el-Nadwa and Gasad al-Thaqafa, has been held at a police station in the northern city of Hail since 2 April, apparently for criticising religious extremism in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi government detains journalist, taunted in police cell
Human Rights Watch said yesterday that Saudi authorities in the northern city of Ha'il should immediately release Rabbah al-Quwai'i, a journalist for Riyadh's al-Shams newspaper.
