Sheikha Ahmad al- Mahmoud, the Qatari minister of education yesterday took get oath before Amir of Qatar, Shaikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani. The Amir issued a decree to amend the formation of the Cabinet and to appoint Sheikha al-Mahmoud as a minister of education.

Qatari FM official: No Qatari mediation between Kuwait, Amr Moussa
An official source at the Qatari foreign ministry said that the talks between the Amir of Qatar, Shaikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, and the secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa dealt with the developments of current conditions and means of coordinating Arab stances to deal with these conditions, especially the situation in Iraq and means of alleviating the sufferings of the Iraqi people and enabling them to maintain self determination and choosing their government democratically as soon as possible as well as maintaining Iraq's unity and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
