Mauritania intensifies efforts against Islamist groups accused of extremism
The secretary general of the ruling party in Mauritania, Belah Weld Makkeyeh, said on Saturday that his party announced a "general alert" in the country which he said is living in a state of war against what he called terrorism inside and outside the country, and postponed the convening of the party's congress in three months.

The International Emergency Force in Somalia stressed that one organization linked to al-Qaida called al-Mujahideen organization has started to be active in that country, warning that the lack of security there will lead to the increase of the pace of its activities and the emergence of new organizations.
