The top United Nations refugee official Friday discussed with Iraqi Kurdish leaders the return of hundreds of thousands of people, mostly Kurds, forcibly displaced under Saddam Hussein's devastating "Arabization" policy, calling it a priority but one that also needed a fair solution for the Arabs brought in to replace them.

US seeks to establish a military base in Algeria
The Algerian daily L' Occidental De Oran said yesterday that the American government is negotiating with the Algerian authorities at the meantime over founding an American military base to the south of Algeria.
