An Arab official denies Italian report on Arafat's deteriorated mental capability
An Arab official has stressed that the health conditions of the Palestinian Chairman Yasser Arafat is "excellent" and that he does not suffer any deterioration in his thinking ability, in contrary to what stated by the Italian weekly "Panorama" on Friday.

Al-Seyassah: On the succession of Yasser Arafat
The Kuwaiti daily al-Seyassah on Friday quoted a Palestinian diplomatic source in Abdu Dhabi as saying that Palestinian Authority information and culture official Yasser Abd Rabbu has achieved one of his closest steps towards leading the Palestinian people in succession of Yasser Arafat after the US President George Bush launched the "count down" process to alienate him from the Presidency of the Palestinian Authority.

The Palestinians of the city of Hebron spent their Wednesday night in shelters as a result of the strong Israeli land and air bombardment which continued all Thursday against the civilian areas and targeted the headquarters of the Palestinian Authority and the province's building and the headquarters of the Palestinian police and public buildings and establishment, leaving behind devastated destruction.
