Mauritania intensifies efforts against Islamist groups accused of extremism
The secretary general of the ruling party in Mauritania, Belah Weld Makkeyeh, said on Saturday that his party announced a "general alert" in the country which he said is living in a state of war against what he called terrorism inside and outside the country, and postponed the convening of the party's congress in three months.
