Three opposition members were accused of involvement in coupe attempt
Judicial sources in Nouakchott announced that three Mauritanian opposition figures were accused yesterday including former president Muhammad Khouna Weld Hedala of involvement in financing a coupe. This was in the course of investigation on three presumed coupes foiled by the government during the 15 past months.

Mauritanian security forces on Sunday arrested a member of the separatist movement "Polisario" while he was attempting to smuggle into the Moroccan territory 52 would-be immigrants from Sub Saharan Africa. These are:19 from Ghana, 16 from Gambia and 17 from Mali.
