Developments in Falluja, the question of hostages
The Japanese deputy foreign minister yesterday announced in Amman that he cannot confirm the killing of the Japanese hostage in Iraq, Shusi Koda, and the body found by the American forces will be examined.

Clashes in al-Ramadi, two Iraqi police men killed, American wounded
Two Iraqi police men were killed and other six injured including two American soldiers in clashes in al-Ramadi to the west of Iraq on Friday evening. Witnesses said that these clashes erupted in the west quarters of the city which have been witnessing an escalation as two persons were killed and 8 injured, three of them were American marines on Thursday.

One Iraqi diplomat killed, Tokyo forms a crisis cell
The Japanese prime minister refused to withdraw his forces deployed in Iraq in response to demands by al-Jihad al-Qaida group in Mesopotamia ( former al-Tawhid Wal Jihad) group for releasing one Japanese hostage it holds. But Tokyo announced the formation of a crisis cell with the aim of dealing with this issue.

Al-Zarqawi group kidnaps one Japanese
The organization of "Qaida al-Jihad in the Mesopotamia" which is led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi said it had kidnapped one member of the Japanese forces in Iraq and threatened to execute him if Tokyo will not withdraw its forces from Iraq within 48 hours.

Three killed in Baqouba, American forces prepare to invade Falluja
It seems that the American forces are preparing for an expanded military operation against Falluja city to the west of Baghdad as they reinforced positions around the city after the renewed air raids on Tuesday morning. The American soldiers backed by tanks and armored vehicles closed the main road of Falluja and war planes flew in the skies of the city.

Two Palestinians were killed by the bullets of the Israeli occupation soldiers to the south of Gaza and thereby the number of Palestinians killed during the few past hours reached 16, at a time when the Israeli parliament ( Knesset) held a meeting on Monday to discuss the withdrawal plan from Gaza.

Marrakech Film Festival (FIFM) to be held on December 6 through 12
The jury will be presided by director Sir Alan Parker, while the FIFM has up to date nominated for honours cineastes Claudia Cardinale (Italy), Sean Connery (Scotland) and Youssef Chahine (Egypt). The festival will also show several other films, including a score of Moroccan movies made the four past years. Indian cinema will be given special honour and some 10 movies made during the past 40 years are featured.
