Qathafi: Arab League is useless because Arab leaders just talk to appease citizens about Arab unity
Qathafi said in a statement prior to Mubarak's leaving back to Cairo "Nothing new has happened after I applied for pullout." He added "the withdrawal decision is serious but we are obliged to do so." He questioned " why should we stay as members in an ineffective league," stressing the need of "implementing the joint Arab charters and joint Arab defense and the economic Arab unity."

Lawyers representing Libya have signed the latest copy of an offer disclosed on Tuesday providing for compensating relatives and families of 270 persons who were killed in the American Pan Am planes which exploded over Lockebie town in 1988, according to which they will get 10 million dollars for each victim in three installments, that are linked to lifting the sanctions imposed on Libya.
