AP report: Lebanon president calls for early elections
An Associated Press report quoted Lebanon's president Emile Lahoud telling al-Jazeera satellite TV on Saturday that he would accept early parliamentary elections as a mean to decide his fate, and such a new parliament can select a new president, otherwise, he is intent on finishing his term of office.
