UN Security Council votes an American- French draft resolution on Lebanese elections
The draft decision to extend a new term of office for the Lebanese President was not accepted by the US administration. The spokesman for the US Department Of State, Richard Boucher, said that the Lebanese presidential elections should be made according to the current constitution which bans re-electing the President for a second term of office, accusing Syria of interfering in the affairs of Lebanon.
