On the Syrian presence in Lebanon
Lebanese writer Abdul Karim Abu al-Naser has considered that the campaign against the Syrian presence in Lebanon will not actually affect this presence, rather will weaken and embarrass the Lebanese role.

The decision of the Australian government to receive 200 of members of the former " South Lebanese Army" (SLA) has provoked disorder among the Lebanese community because this militia has been accused of committing "crimes and torture acts when it worked under Israeli authority during the Israeli occupation of South Lebanon."

On the Syrian presence in Lebanon
Former Lebanese defense minister Mohsin Dalloul has stressed that Syria has decided to quit from Lebanon, but several Lebanese forces besides the US prevent her from leaving, and this is due to the fact that Syria's role in Lebanon has not finished yet and that Syria still has many things to do to prevent the eruption of differences.
