Iranian President confers with Jordanian premier
President Mohammed Khatami of Iran on Tuesday stressed that peace in the Middle East can't be achieved without the restoration of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of a Palestinian independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Jordan: No concession concerning the rights of the refugees
The spokeswoman for the Jordanian government Asmaa Khuder yesterday considered that the statements of the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to the Israeli daily Haartez over the return back of Palestinian refugees " are not different in substance from the Arab initiative " and that " there is no problem between the position of Jordan and the Palestinian question in this issue."
