Saudi Arabia calls for inaugurating an opening on the borders with Iraq
Saudi Arabia has called on the UN to open the "Jdedat Arar" opening so as to allow Saudi commodities to pass to Iraq in line with the oil-for-food program and UN resolution 986. Therefore this will be the fifth crossing opened for the passage of commodities to Iraq. The other four opening are through Jordan, Turkey, Syria and Um Qaser.
