al-Zamman: Iraqi, Lebanese, Jordanian agreement to return one billion dollars to Iraq
The Iraqi minister of finance, Kamel al-Keilani, announced that the Iraqi ministry of finance reached an agreement with Lebanon and Jordan to restore back frozen assets worth one billion dollars, noting that there are negotiations with Syria to this effect.

Baghdad welcomed new year with an explosion killing five
The Iraqi capital Baghdad received the new year with a strong explosion in a restaurant in the downtown of the city, crowded with diners who were celebrating the new year. The explosion resulted in killing five persons at least, and more than 20 wounded, 7 of them are in critical health condition.

One Iraqi citizen was killed and other three wounded, one of them in critical condition, in a bomb explosion when an American vehicle was running in al- Karradah quarters in the downtown, while one American soldier was wounded in a bomb explosion that took place in the west of Baghdad.
