News reports on the killing or detaining deputy chairman of the Iraqi Revolution Leadership Council in the former regime, Ezzat Ibrahim al-Douri, in Karkouk quoted member of the Interim Governing Council in Iraq, Muwaffaq al-Rubei, saying that the American forces launched on Monday in Karkouk a large operation and it is probable that Ezzat Ibrahim al-Douri,had been killed or jailed.

American killed, governing council forms committee to deal with election issue
One American soldier was killed near al-Habaneyah, town to the west of Baghdad, after a military vehicle was exposed to an attack launched by resistance fighters yesterday morning. In a statement, the occupation forces said the soldier died because of grave wounds he suffered.
