Kidnappers of the 7 hostages extend the grace period, new demands, one Egyptian diplomat kidnapped in Baghdad
One Iraqi armed group yesterday kidnapped the third ranking man in the Egyptian diplomatic mission to Baghdad at a time when a group detaining 7 hostages in Iraq -- three Kenyans, three Indians and one Egyptian -- extended a period that was announced for a Kuwaiti company where the hostage are working for 48 hours but announced new demands in order to release them including releasing the Iraqi detainees in the Kuwaiti and American jails and compensating victims of the American bombardment of Falluja.

Egypt's exports surge by L.E. 4.3 billion
According to a recent report released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), the aggregate volume of Egyptian exports to world markets reached L.E. 4.3 billion in January 2004, against L.E. 2.9 billion in January 2003. Egypt's total imports soared up to L.E. 6.5 billion in January 2004, compared to L.E. 5.4 billion in January 2003.

Egyptian hostage in Iraq released
The national " Islamic resistance groups in Iraq" ( groups of the 1920th ) revolution said in a statement that it had release the Egyptian driver Sayed Muhammad Sayed al-Gharbawi who was held by the group in Iraq. The driver was taken to the Egyptian interests office in Baghdad.
