Egypt: resignation of Obeid and assigning Ahmad Nazif
President Hosni Mubrak of Egypt yesterday authorized the minister of communications Ahmad Nazif to form the new government after the government of Atif Obeid gave its resignation following an emergency meeting for the government lasted for less than half an hour to prepare the statement of resignation, during which Nazif left the headquarters of the Cabinet, 10 minutes before the end of the meeting heading for the Republic's presidency after he was summoned to be there.

Al- Ahram the new government is next week
The Egyptian daily al-Ahram said that a new government "will give its constitutional oath before President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak during this week " and that the current prime minister Atef Obeid will occupy " a new post relating to economic issues at the internal and external levels and this position will be linked directly to President Mubarak."

Mubarak returns back by the end of the week
The Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak resumed yesterday from his hospital in Munich where he is spending a recovery time after the surgery he underwent on his backbone, his activity by meeting with the German foreign minister Yushka Fischer and discussed with him conditions in the Middle East and the Israeli- Palestinian conflict, according to a statement by the ministry.
