The Algerian-backed separatist movement "Polisario" has established links with Algerian terrorist group GSPC (French acronym for Salafist Group for predication and Combat) and radical Islamists, mainly Afghan war veterans, according to a French politologist.

Algerian army refutes allegations of the socialist forces front over elections
In a statement issued by the Algerian official news agency, the Algerian defense ministry yesterday denied that the official at the military intelligence department Gen. Tawfiq Medyan had contacted the leader of the socialist forces, Hussein Ayat Ahmad, and proposed to him taking part in the presidential elections which took place recently.

Polisario member gets 5-year prison sentence for stealing explosives in mauritania
A member of the Algerian-backed separatist movement "Polisario" was sentenced, in Nouakchott Tuesday, by a Mauritanian court to five years in prison for stealing and selling explosives.

The Algerian constitutional council has confirmed results of the Algerian Presidential elections which took place last week and were won by the Algerian President Abdul Aziz Butaflika for a second term of office for five years. Algerian army leadership refuse to receive Benflis, Saadi
Algerian party sources disclosed that the army commander in chief lt. Gen. Muhammad al-Ammari refused to receive the two candidates for Presidency Ali Benflis and Saeed Saadi who called on the military establishment to interfere after announcing the results of presidential elections which were won by Abdul Aziz Butaflika.
