Butaflika calls on Algerians for success of Chirac's next visit to Algiers
In several interventions, the Algerian President Abdul Aziz Butaflika commended the Algerian armed forces. He called on all Algerians to ensure the success of the forthcoming visit of the French President Jacque Chirac by the beginning of March and the efforts to build strong and solid relations with France.

L'Opinion daily: After 16 years in captivity, Moroccan serviceman escapes Polisario jail (daily)
A Moroccan soldier, captured by the Polisario in 1987, managed to escape the separatists' jails in Tindouf (south-western Algeria) in January after 16 years of captivity, L'Opinion daily reported on Tuesday.
