Algerian government denies differences between Butaflika and the army; Algerian- US cooperation on terrorism
The US under secretary of state for political affairs Mark Grossman on Wednesday in Algiers stressed, following talks he had held with the Algerian foreign minister Abdul Aziz Balkhadem that Washington supports the political and economic reforms carried out by the government of President Abdul Aziz Butaflika.

After meeting Qathafi, Butaflika: if quitting is a solution, we will all do so
After meeting with Libya's Leader of the Revolution Colonel Muammar al Qathafi yesterday in Tripoli, the Algerian President Abdul Aziz Butaflika said he feels the "same regret Qathafi has towards the Arab League." He added "stemmed from Libya's decision to pull out from the Arab League, I have come to have consultations altogether. If quitting the AL is the solution, we will all quit." He stressed that his country will be an "ally for Libya in its stances and the measures it takes."
