13.4% increase in the tourism movement to Lebanon

The Lebanese Tourism Ministry said through official statistics that the number of tourists has increased during the first ten months of the current year to 591,957 in comparison to 522,018 tourists during the same period of 1998-- an increase of 13.4%.
It added that European tourists made up the largest share of tourists in Lebanon, while Arab tourists came in second followed by tourists from the USA and Canada.
The statistics added that there is a plan for developing work on hotel establishments, whether by increasing hotel capacity or training the necessary personnel for this development.
