Syrians in the Golan attack Israeli local councils

Syrian youths from Baqaata village in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights attacked the local council's premises and set them on fire on Monday night.

Israel Radio said the attack by the Syrian youths resulted in heavy material losses.

In reply to the fire set by the Syrian youths, the Israeli authorities imposed a curfew on the village and carried out a wide mopping-up operation in search of the attackers.

The Israeli authorities have been imposing on the Syrians of the occupied Golan "certain local councils." But the Syrian citizens opposed these councils and boycotted their staff, stressing their categorical rejection of Israeli laws and measures and interference in their affairs, vowing loyalty only to Syria.
