Report: Jordanian mediation for Syrian-Palestinian reconciliation

The Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am said in a report from Amman that high-ranking Jordanian governmental sources revealed a Jordanian mediation to make a Syrian-Palestinian reconciliation.
The sources told al-Rai al-Am that Amman always seeks to bring the Arab states closer together.
The Kuwaiti paper indicated that it has been rumored in Amman that Palestinian President Yasser Arafat asked Jordan's King Abdullah to intervene with Syrian President Hafez al-Assad to make a reconciliation between the two sides.
