Moussa underlines important of inter-Arab coordination
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 12/29/1999

Foreign Minister Amr Moussa underlined the need to further inter-Arab coordination and voiced belief that Arab countries concerned with the process have no reservations on coordination of stances.

After his meeting with Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat, Moussa said there are too many issues under discussion on the Palestinian-Israeli track and that coordination with the Palestinians is always there.

Asked on an Egyptian mediatory role, Moussa said that the matter does not require a mediation, underlining the importance of resuming negotiations on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks.

He stressed that Egypt is neither a direct negotiator nor a proxy one. The top diplomat voiced Egypt's support to all Arab negotiators on all tracks in order to reach just settlement.

Moussa warned that Israel's non-abidance by the Sharm El-Sheikh agreement could turn Arab negotiators on other tracks into suspicion.
