King Mohammed back home after Arab tour

King Mohammed VI returned to Morocco on Tuesday at the end of an Arab tour that took him to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Tunisia.
In Tunisia, the king conferred with Tunisian President Zine al-Abidin Ben Ali on bilateral relations and the situation in the Maghreb.
The king was also guest at an iftar-dinner (fast-breaking) banquet hosted in his honor by President Ben Ali.
In a message of thanks to Ben Ali, King Mohammed VI stressed attachment to foundations of complementarity and consultation set by the two states and lauded the cooperation ties existing between them.
Both Morocco and Tunisia are members of the Arab Maghreb Union together with Algeria, Libya and Mauritania.
The two states have a joint commission that meets regularly under the co-chairmanship of their prime ministers.
In Saudi Arabia, first leg of the Royal tour, the king performed Omra (minor pilgrimage) in the Muslim holy shrines in Mecca, visited the tomb of Prophet Mohammed in Medina and met with King Fahd Ibn Abdel Aziz of Saudi Arabia. He also met with King Abdallah II of Jordan and Skeikh Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, Emir of Bahrain.
In Abu Dhabi, he met with by Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
