Continued Israeli raids against south Lebanon, resistance retaliates
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 12/29/1999

The Lebanese resistance on Tuesday launched four attacks against the military positions of the Israeli forces and their South Lebanon Army militia agents inside the occupied part of south Lebanon.

In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said Lebanese resistance groups rocketed and machine-gunned military movements inside al-Tibeh position and its surroundings in the central sector of occupied south Lebanon. The resistance men also attacked by rockets and machine guns the positions of Moheisbat and al-Salaa, and the attacks resulted in wounding the soldiers manning the positions.

Further reports from south Lebanon said that on Tuesday afternoon the Lebanese resistance renewed its attacks against positions and patrols of the Israeli occupation forces and their agents. A military troop carrier was hit, and many soldiers were wounded.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli warplanes carried out raids against the central sector of south Lebanon.

Lebanese security sources said the planes raided Ein Samahieh near the town of Zouter and dropped two missiles. The Israeli raiding planes were fired on by Lebanese army and resistance anti-aircraft guns.

Earlier, the Israeli warplanes carried out intensive sorties over south Lebanon and the western Bekaa, the Lebanese sources said, adding that the Israeli planes also carried out several mock raids.
