Policeman, offical killed in an ambush

An armed group has assassinated the deputy chairman of Eraven municipality in the Algerian province of Jijel, killed one policeman and wounded one of the municipal guards in an ambush placed against a car owned by the local authorities in the province.
Meanwhile, the Algerian daily al-Ayam also reported the killing of two citizens in a bomb explosion in al-Qadereyah town in Bouira province.
Moreover, the Algerian al-Sahafa and al-Aseel dailies said that the security forces killed four members of the Armed Islamic Group in Boumerdes and Blida provinces and arrested one armed group member in a vast mopping-up operation carried out in the two provinces.
