Moroccan house approves accord on al-Quds Fund headquarters in Morocco
Morocco, Politics, 12/28/1999
The Moroccan Chamber of Advisors, the upper house of parliament, approved on Monday an accord related to the headquarters of the Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Fund in Casablanca.
The accord gives the fund the status of a legal entity, while the fund's staff and experts will enjoy the same advantages and immunities of diplomats accredited to Morocco, except the Moroccan nationals working at the fund.
The fund was created at the initiative of the late King Hassan II with the prime objective to mobilize funds for the defense of the Arab and Islamic identity of Al-Quds.
