Morocco-Nigeria, Sports, 12/28/1999

President Olusegun Obassanjo on Monday received a message from King Mohammed VI.

The message was handed to the Nigerian head of state by the deputy chairman of the Moroccan Committee in charge of promoting Morocco's bid to host the 2006 World Cup finals.

Abuja is the last leg of a tour that led Benhima to Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'ivoire, Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau, Gabon, Togo, Ghana and Mauritania.

Morocco is competing with South Africa, Germany, England and Brazil to host the planetary event. The World football governing body, FIFA, will select the host country next July.
