Syrian governor visits Turkish province

The governor of Hassaka (a province in northern Syria), Subhi Harb, on Monday visited the Turkish province of Sanli Urfa in the framework of bilateral cooperation between the two neighboring countries.

The Syrian governor was accompanied by senior officials representing al-Hassaka province.

Harb and the governor of Sanli Urfa, Shehabeddin Harbout, held a meeting during which they discussed border issues of interest to both sides.

Harbout indicated the historical relations between Turkey and Syria and the importance of developing ties to serve the interests of the peoples of Syria and Turkey. He reiterated Ankara's desire to promote cultural and social ties with Syria for the embodiment of historical relations.
