Mufti exempts Raja football club players from fasting

A mufti has exempted the players of Raja club of Casablanca from fasting, during the World clubs championships, to be hosted in Brazil January 5-15.
The mufti, who was invited by the club to give a legal advice on the matter, allowed the players not to fast during the championships, Al-Ittihad Al-Ichtiraki daily reported.
The players can postpone the fasting until after the championships, he said.
During the fasting month of Ramadan, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking from sunrise until sunset. Fasting, one of the five pillars of Islam, can be postponed for those who are ill, in a war or travelling.
Raja Casablanca, winner of the African Champions League, flied Sunday to Brazil to represent Africa in the World championships.
