Indonesia bans embargo imposed on trade relations with Israel
Israel-Indonesia, Economics, 12/24/1999

Members of an Israeli delegation currently visiting Indonesia said the Indonesian government intends to cancel the embargo officially imposed on trade relations with Israel, and this will be materialized next week.

Israeli Radio said an Indonesian trade center will be established in Amman that will be also responsible for trade relations between Israel and Indonesia, while offices for the chambers of commerce for both Indonesia and Israel will be established in both Tel Aviv and Jakarta.

The chairman of the Israeli federation of chambers, Danny Clearman, said the goal behind matters agreed upon during the visit of the Israeli economic delegation to Jakarta is to give the green light for the business sector in Indonesia to resume relations with Israel.

Clearman indicated good possibilities to expand the volume of trade exchange between Israel and Indonesia to US $1 billion annually.
