Anti-corruption committee meets
Morocco, Politics, 12/23/1999

The Moroccan follow-up committee of struggle against corruption met in Rabat on Wednesday to prepare strategies for the fight against corruption.

The committee, set up last June following a World Bank-sponsored seminar, also studied a "coherent and rational" strategy to fight the plague in the long run.

The government's general affairs minister, Mohamed Lahlimi, said the awareness program will target administrations and enterprises. The action requires the backing of the civil society and the youth, he said.

He announced that a general awareness campaign for the promotion of transparency will be staged through the print and audiovisual media.
