Government ready to resume social dialogue
Morocco, Politics, 12/23/1999
Government spokesman and Labor Minister Khalid Alioua said the government was ready to resume social dialogue meetings with the major trade unions.
In a debate hosted by the weekly "La Vie Economique," Alioua said each union will have the possibility of starting sectorial negotiations to pave the way for an economic and social policy. The main problem, he said, is the unfair spread of wealth in the country which requires a new process based on consensus.
Alioua also said the meeting date for the national social security governing board will be announced in mid-January and that the draft labor charter will be submitted to the current session of parliament.
