Obstacles confront mediation between El-Bashir and Turabi

The efforts of the mediation committee between Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir and Hassan Turabi, head of the parliament, are facing clear obstacles as the committee has not convened its first meeting, scheduled for last Monday. The committee, including the most prominent Islamic figures in Sudan and headed by Abd El-Rahim Ali, finished preparing its primary ideas for solving the disputes in the ruling National Congress Party, as it will deliver those ideas to El-Bashir after his tour of the Arab states.
