Turkish military delegation visits Israel to strengthen strategic cooperation

The spokesman for the Israeli Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that he expects a large Turkish delegation to visit Israel next week to hold what he described as semi-annual strategic talks

The spokesman told the AFP that the delegation will arrive in Israel by the beginning of next week and the visit will last for several days

Meanwhlie, the Israeli daily Jerusalem Post said the Turkish delegation will include 30 senior army officers, diplomats and officials from the Turkish Defense Ministry and defense industries, while the Israeli side to the talks will be represented by Amous Yaroun, the new director general at the Israeli Defense Ministry

The source added that Israel may try to sell Turkey helicopters produced by the Russian Kamov company, and a contract is expected to be signed according to which Israel will renovate Turkish M-60 A 30 tanks at a cost of US $1 billion.
