Some 500 million Arabs by the year 2025
Regional, Economics, 12/23/1999
Economic reports prepared by international experts have warned against the high population growth registered in the majority of the Arab states exceeding the average in most parts of the world except Africa and several Latin American states.
According to estimates, that Arab population is 275 million, against 215 million by the end of the last decade. This number is expected to reach 360 million before the fall of the year 2010 and to reach 500 million in the year 2025.
However, the main challenge behind such high demographic growth is the available resources' inability to meet the needs of greater numbers of citizens in the areas of health and education and other services.
