Al-Hoss: we demand our rights to lands and the waters
Lebanon, Politics, 12/21/1999

Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss has asserted that Lebanon will be persistent in to demanding its rights to the waters of the al-Qazzani and al-Hasbani rivers and restoring several villages and plantations confiscated by Israel and annexed by it.

The London-based al-Hayat daily said that in a statement issued on Sunday, the Lebanese premier added that Lebanon will pursue compensation for the losses inflicted as a result of the Israeli attacks on Lebanon over many years.

Meanwhile, al-Hoss on Monday stressed that the resumption of negotiations on the Syrian track from the point where they broke off is the result of Syria's steadfastness and Lebanon's confrontations of continued Israeli acts of aggression.

In a speech he made on Monday in Beirut at an Iftar banquet, the Lebanese premier reiterated a commitment to complete coordination with Syria and the unity of the Syrian and Lebanese tracks in peace talks so as to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on international legitimacy resolutions and the land-for-peace formula.
