Egyptian demands Austria to hand over a terrorist

Egypt asked Austria to hand over an extremist who evaded implementing an absentia verdict of hard labor for 15 years in one of the Islamist violence cases in Egypt.
The lawyer of the Islamic groups in Egypt Muntaser El-Zayat told ArabicNews.com that Mohammed Abd al-Rahman Ashri who left Cairo for the last time in March 1994 after being exposed many times to detention - traveled to Albania and lived there for a year then moved to Austria.
He added that Ashri in Austria presented a request for asylum and that he is facing the risk of expatriating him to Egypt after the request presented by the Egyptian authority to the Austrian government to hand him over - adding that he will manage the papers and documents which state that his client is a political opposition thus preventing the handing over."
Egyptian sources said that Ashri is being prosecuted concerning reviving El-Jihad movement in El-Sharika governorate in which 25 extremist are accused.
