Emirates supports cooperation with Iran

Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, expressed his support for establishing cooperation with Iran.
He added that cooperation between the two countries must help stability in the area. This came in a phone call between Sheikh Zayed and the Iranian President Muhammad Khatami on the occasion of the month of Ramadan.
Iranian sources said that "the two presidents discussed the bilateral relations and expressed their desire in improving it."
The two countries are conflicting concerning three islands located near the main navigation passages in the Arab Gulf's entrance.
