A Palestinian official asks Israel to be serious in maintaining peace
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 12/18/1999
The Secretary General of the Palestinian presidentship El-Tayeb Abd El-Rahim asked Israel to exert serious efforts toward the peace process by implementing its commitments on the Palestinian track as the Palestinian cause is the base of conflict in the Middle East area - adding that there is no peace in the area without solving the Palestinian cause and implementing the security council's resolutions 242 and 338 and the land for peace principle as well as solving the refugees' case.
He also said "if resolution N 242 was applied on the Syrian front by a complete and a comprehensive withdrawal from all the occupied Syrian lands - this means that our stance as Palestinians becomes stronger and that it must be applied as it was applied on the Egyptian, Jordanian and the Syrian fronts."
