Some 200 Israeli air raids against Lebanon in 1999

The Israeli warplanes on Friday continued their violations of Lebanese airspace. Lebanese security sources said that Israeli planes flew over the Bekaa and eastern Lebanon, breaking the sound barrier over the town of Baalbeck.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces and their agents expelled Lebanese citizen Zeid Barakat from the occupied town of Showeya in the Halabya area to the liberated areas.
Barakat was arrested in 1992 and jailed until 1998. Israeli forces re-arrested him and imprisoned him in Khiam prison.
Further reports from south Lebanon said that a senior officer in the Israeli Air Force revealed that more then 200 air raids have been carried out this year. He admitted that the Israeli pilots attacked targets sporadically and without discrimination whether they were civilian or military targets.
