UNICEF lauds Mubarak's role in child welfare

The UNICEF paid tribute Wednesday to President Hosni Mubarakıs continued endeavor for the promotion of child welfare. UNICEF Regional Director for Middle East and North Africa Ibrahim Fal cited, in this regard, President Mubarak's declaration of 2000-2010 as the second decade for childhood.

Speaking at a meeting with the National Childhood and Motherhood Council's Chief Moshira Khattab, he praised Egypt's success in implementing the programs of the first decade, 98/99, on child protection. Hailing the efforts exerted by Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak protecting childıs rights, Fal said that she had offered so much for Egypt's children.

On the other hand, Mrs. Mubarak will send a message today the Chinese University of Shanghai with the celebration marking its 50th anniversary. The message will be read on her behalf by Nagi a1-Ghatrifi, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs.
