Egypt-Japan, Culture, 12/17/1999
The Supreme Council for Antiquities in Egypt agreed to establish a fair for ancient Egyptian archeology in Japan during August 2000 under the title "Greatness of the Ancient Egyptian Civilization."
Gaballah Ali Gaballah, secretary general of the Supreme Council for Antiquities, said the council took a decision concerning this fair in his meeting under the chairmanship of Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni recently.
It is to comprise nearly 100 varied archeological pieces that represent the different ancient Egyptian eras.
Gaballah added that establishing the fair comes in Egypt's participation in the world's celebration of the new millenium, as Japan organizes a large celebration that includes the establishment of a group of fairs for the most ancient civilizations in history.
