Yemen renews call for convening Arab summit
Regional-Yemen, Politics, 12/16/1999
Yemen renewed its call yesterday for convening an Arab summit to achieve the aspired Arab solidarity.
Ambassador Ahmed Lokman, Yemen's permanent delegate at the Arab League, referred to the importance of making haste in convening the Arab summit to tackle the current problems in the area and confront the new regional and international challenges.
The Yemeni delegate said after discussions he held yesterday with AL Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid that the call for convening the summit has become an urgent Arab demand and not a special Yemeni one, expressing his hope that Egypt will effectively contribute to preparing to convene the summit.
